Inheritance - Part 6
Land given by God
The inheritance of Land is established by God
The land of several nations given unto another nation for an inheritance by God. The Lord
gave someone else’s inheritance (transgressors/the heathen) unto the Children of Israel (Symbolic
for His Children, although servants until one is born-again by the Blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ).
The Lord gave the Children of Israel strength to make the journey into His holy land. The Lord
puts His terror on the nations that the Children of Israel must confront to starting winning the
battle before it is even begun. God planted the Children of Israel into their own inheritance.
Exodus 15:13-17
13 Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.
14 The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.
15 Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.
16 Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.
17 Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established. KJV
The Lord separates us from the ungodly in the earth and the Lord also gives us a good land to inherit just like He did for the Children of Israel. The milk is symbolic of a land full of animals (producing and sustaining) like sheep, goats, cows, horses, etc… and the honey is symbolic of good vegetation (producing and sustaining) like trees, vines, fruits, vegetables, etc....
Leviticus 20:22-24
22 Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out.
23 And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.
24 But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the LORD your God, which have separated you from other people.
The larger the family the more they should inherit when speaking of property. This is ordained by God concerning property. This could also be used when determining how to separate a financial inheritance by using the principle of each individual inheriting the same (an equivalent) amount. Therefore if one family had 7 people and the other family only had three people and there was 100 thousand dollars to split up. The grandfather of both families could give each person 10 thousand dollars each, thus, the family of seven would get 70 thousand and the family of three would get 30 thousand. Some people would have a problem with this distribution but the principle is ordained by God. The more get (receive, inherit) more and the less get (receive, inherit) less.
Numbers 26:51-55
51 These were the numbered of the children of Israel, six hundred thousand and a thousand seven hundred and thirty.
52 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
53 Unto these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names.
54 To many thou shalt give the more inheritance, and to few thou shalt give the less inheritance: to every one shall his inheritance be given according to those that were numbered of him.
55 Notwithstanding the land shall be divided by lot: according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit. KJV
The Lord told Moses that the Children of Israel must dispossess the current inhabitants of their land. Since the current inhabitants of that land did not believe in the Lord this meant going to war to kill many people. Those who believe God will never order someone to be killed (murdered) are wrong. There are times when we will need to remove someone or something from a land (possession) given to us from the Lord before we can realize the full benefit of the property.
Numbers 33:50-54
50 And the LORD spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,
51 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye are passed over Jordan into the land of Canaan;
52 Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places:
53 And ye shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land, and dwell therein: for I have given you the land to possess it.
54 And ye shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families: and to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer ye shall give the less inheritance: every man's inheritance shall be in the place where his lot falleth; according to the tribes of your fathers ye shall inherit.
The land of Canaan was given to the Children of Israel by the Lord. Notice that the coastal surfaces were also given for plentiful water to aid nourishment and food.
Numbers 34:1,2
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land of Canaan; (this is the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan with the coasts thereof:) KJV
Children of Israel taken out from Egypt by God to go unto their inheritance.
Deuteronomy 4:20,21
20 But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.
21 Furthermore the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance: KJV
Should be a rest from your enemies when you enter into the inheritance given to you by God.
Deuteronomy 12:7-10
7 And there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the LORD thy God hath blessed thee.
8 Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.
9 For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God giveth you.
10 But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety; KJV
Inheritance of the land is given by God for your possession
Deuteronomy 26:1
And it shall be, when thou art come in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and possessest it, and dwellest therein; KJV
The Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam
Deuteronomy 32:7-9
7 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.
8 When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.
9 For the LORD's portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance. KJV
The inheritance given unto the Children of Israel was measured out precisely
Psalms 78:55
He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents. KJV
Land is given unto the fathers of Israel from the Lord
Jeremiah 3:18
In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers. KJV
